Chamonix Town Is a Fantastic Place for Skiing Breaks

March 21st, 2009

Chamonix is a luxury ski resort which is located at the foot of the awe inspiring Mount Blanc in the Alps and is often regarded as the mountaineering and skiing epi centre of Europe. The town is known as a real playground for extreme activities in summer and winter seasons. Chamonix Mont Blanc was host to the inaugural Olympics in the 1920s - furthermore it’s also a region of brilliant vistas offering a lot of different things to the snowboarder and holiday maker.

But unlike most up to date skiing towns the resort of Chamonix isn’t a purpose built ski domain and has been largely saved from the concrete resorts which blight a lot of the French Alps. It is blessed with not only and infamous skiing mountain but a grand and thriving town centre.

Chamonix town is large enough to ensure that there is enough for the non skier to do and see. Whatever the pace of your trip there is an activity to suit everyone. Not to mention a large swimming and sports center, cross country skiing, casino and weekly market with fresh local produce; and lots of designer boutiques, cafes and clubs, Chamonix town offers a choice of activities, atmosphere and aprs ski, that only a handful snowboarding domains can come close to. Therefore research that snowboarding vacation immediately.
