Create What You Desire by Experiencing It NOW!

July 16th, 2008

As a co-creator with Source, you were endowed at birth with everything you need to create realities! Those abilities are built into you, and are empowered by the Law of Attraction. One of the most effective creativity tools you have at your disposal is your ability to experience something before it becomes a tangible reality, and empower it to manifest. How do you do this? You use your amazing imagination to create an energy template, and then apply your passion to magnetize substance to it! If you desire it, then it is already a probabilityall you need to do is to provide it with a delivery route. By pre-experiencing it, you are offering it an expressway into your reality instead of the old, rutted cart path you provide when you simply have a wish.

Decide on something that is your true heart’s desire, and imagine, in full, glorious color, with all your senses engaged, how it will feel when it is a tangible reality. If you have trouble with actually visualizing, or you don’t know enough of the tangible details of your desire to be able to see it, you can simply feel how you want to feel when your desire has manifested, and utilize as many other senses as you canthe more of yourself you engage in the pre-experience, the more effective it is. One way to handle this is to just imagine telling someone about your desire becoming reality, and feeling the thrill of that. A technique for this I love to use is to imagine myself on the telephone with a friend sharing the exciting news that whatever my desire is has come true. For example, if I desire to win a trip to Fiji, in addition to imagining/feeling/sensing/pre-experiencing that I’m actually on the dream trip to Fiji with my dear friend, I will pre-experience the thrill of telling her about winning it, because it’s very easy to tap into the juice of that.

For example, I might pre-experience calling her and saying, “Can you believe it? I just won that trip to Fiji I’ve always wanted and I’d like you to go with me!” I imagine my friend screaming with excitement and both of us going bonkers with joy and glee, making plans, discussing logistics etc. While doing this, I feel in my gut the exquisite butterflies of elation I would feel, I hear my friend’s voice, I imagine the smells in the room, taste the tea I’m sipping, feel the weight of the phone receiver in my hand, etc. The more real you can make it, the more powerful it is. Remember, using your five senses, and feeling the feelingturning on the joy around having your desireis critical to the process. And using your quality of playfulnessone of your most potent in-born power toolswill “turbo-charge” it!

I know how effective “pre-experiencing” is because I once used it to go from being unable to walk at all (or even lift my legs) to being able to climb a steep hill without assistance in a mere two dayssomething doctors had said was impossible! And despite a myriad of obstacles, it unfolded exactly as I had pre-experienced it. What an amazing moment that was! And yet, as I have learned since, it is not so amazing after all. Because of the way we are designed, it’s only natural!

After the Kilt Sniggers - Comes the Tartan Question

July 14th, 2008

I want a kilt - can I have it in Tartan?

Simple answer is yes.

The same as anything you buy for sustained use, you have a few choices to make. But nothing too taxing.

The most common misconception that people have is that if there is a particular tartan design they like that is associated to a specific family - or clan as they are called in Scotland - then they aren’t allowed to wear it.

Well, not strictly true! Not anymore, anyway.

Understandably, if you are planning on dining or socialising with any severe traditionalists then you might be wiser to avoid wearing a clan tartan if you aren’t actually entitled to by family connections.

But in the main stream - this isn’t an issue that will affect most of us.

But there are other choices you need to be aware of, such as what weight of tartan kilt do you want?

The choices are light (6 - 12oz), medium (13 - 14oz) or heavy (15 - 18oz).

The light kilt is highly suitable for hot climates and for the more relaxed functions. The drawbacks to a light to medium weight kilt is that it won’t “hang” and “move” like a medium to heavy weight kilt will do.

Bear in mind that the design of a kilt has the pleats to the back and moving forward to the sides. The front is a flat hang. The heavier the kilt, the more natural movement and straightness you will enjoy.

On average most people opt for a medium, unless they know they will be using the kilt for specific official functions or outings.

The specific mill from which your kilt is coming also has a small bearing, in that not all of them either stocks the design of tartan you prefer or make that design in the weight you want. One way to combat this is to determine the mill that you’d like your kilt to come from and then find out what specific selections they offer.

Another alternative is to have the kilt custom made for you - but that can be rather expensive!

Conversely - you don’t have to have Tartan you know!

Gaining in popularity and awareness are the Irish and Welsh kilts. The Irish are more widespread with a wider range of choices and they come in plain tartan designs or just simple one color kilts.

It’s far more common for an Irish kilt to reflect a particular county, city or state as opposed to a family or bloodline. There they wear it to emphasise their county of origin.

Choosing and wearing a kilt can be fun and dashing. Take your time with the choices to make sure you have one that you feel comfortable in and that gives you a personal sense of pride and you’ll find you gain an awful lot more from wearing it than any pair of jeans!

Eating Food, But What Kind Of?

July 11th, 2008

Especially in children, obesity is a matter of rapidly growing concern in the world. The reason is childhood obesity not only decreasing the life span of our kids, but it also dramatically affects their quality of life. Diabetes, hypertension, emphysema and many diseases we see in adults have the origins in younger ages.

Studies refer to today’s youth obesity has found that the leading cause is malnutrition. Nonsense, you might say, there is plenty of food everywhere. Yes, there is, but what kind of?

To perform well our body needs vitamins, minerals and energy.

Body uses vitamins and minerals for maintaining organs and their good function. For example, Vitamin A is needed for maintenance of skin, mucous membranes, teeth bones, vision, hair; and reproduction while Vitamin C is used for healthy teeth, gums, bones and as a general detoxicant. Every vitamin and mineral has its precise role in body’s mechanism.

Body needs energy to supply the physical activity. Energy comes into the body trough food calories. There is an internal mechanism that transforms calories into energy.

When studies refer to malnutrition as a main cause of children obesity, they reveal that our kids are eating a lot food containing more calories that they need. More calories mean more energy. If the body do not use all energy in physical activities, the remaining amount results in fat. On the other hand, studies draw attention on unhealthy food oversaturated in calories and poor in vitamins. The effect of such kind of food consuming is devastating on children condition. Simply not getting the right amount of vitamins and minerals, body asks for more food, children became hungry and eat more. Unhealthy food generates a nonending cycle that brings fats in our body.

The solution is to go back to natural food, especially fruits and vegetables. Our children deserve adequate education, help and supervision for a longer and better life.

Different Internet Options

July 9th, 2008

How many ads have you seen just today for different internet companies? It can be a staggering amount. Think about this as well. For every commercial, every billboard ad, and every internet ad that you see there are hundreds of thousands of dollars promoting it. That is quite a huge amount of money being used to get your attention and get you to switch from one company to the next. The real question is though, who has what you need and the right price.

It is often hard to choose one from the next because they all claim to have the best rates out there. Sure, when you compare one company’s dial up rate to another company’s cable rate, there is a large difference. The first order of business for you, then, is to choose the type of method you want to use for your internet access. You can choose dial up which uses your phone line. You can be charged by the minutes, hours, or a flat rate here. But, remember, being online means to access to the phone.

Another option is the cable modem or DSL. In each of these cases, you are accessing the internet in a different manner, but the process is basically the same. DSL runs through your phone line, but does not clog up the lines. A cable modem is used to access the internet through your cable company. This type of internet access costs much more than dial up but allows you the flexibility to be online and on the phone for a flat rate every month.

When you compare apples to apples, you’ll be able to see what the differences in internet companies are. When it comes time to choose, you’ll have a different way of choosing. Compare prices, yes, but do not forget to compare other factors like abilities, speed, features, and the ease of use. Some internet companies offer spam blockers, virus scans, and even firewall protection. Others are a basic internet hook up that offers fewer frills at a better rate.

One of the best ways to know which company has a good history with its members is to look for testimonials. But, stop, don’t get them from the companies, get them from people you know. Did you get an email from a friend? What is his ISP, or internet service provider? Ask him how he likes the company. First hand knowledge of the ISP will allow you to make a fair choice in one company to the next. They are all competing for your business so give them a run for your money!

Go Low-Glycemic To Burn Away That Excess Fat!

July 9th, 2008

Obesity — it is as much the scourge of the developed world as poverty is of the Third World. Thousands in the developed world have been desperately — and rather unsuccessfully — trying to shed their pounds, even as thousands in the underdeveloped world have been trying to put some fat into their bodies.

The World Health Organization says that the United States is now the fattest country in the world. Ask anyone who has tried to burn away those calories. It’s easier to look for the proverbial needle in the haystack! And they will tell you that there are no shortcuts in a fat loss regimen.

There are many causes that contribute to weight gain. Often, it may not only be the intake of food. Hormonal factors, side-effects of medical conditions, and many other factors cause weight gain. Recent research has shown that the increased amount of chemicals and toxins in the environment is a factor contributing to obesity.

Dieting and fat burning exercises are often considered the only solution for fat loss. But such a regime should be tailor-made for your body composition and lifestyle to be effective. However, many people do not follow professional advice and cause more harm to their body than good while on a fat loss regime.

This is where we need to look at the new low-glycemic standard of healthy eating. Glycemic indexing basically measures by how much a given food raises blood sugar and insulin response. This is important because the rate at which your blood sugar rises after eating is important in managing your weight.

High-glycemic food causes many negative effects, including weight gain. They increase your appetite, and raise fat in your body system by increasing triglycerides. However, a low-carbohydrate diet is not necessarily a low-glycemic diet as is the popular misconception. Such a diet will only lead to more fat in the body.

So what is a low glycemic diet? Fruits and vegetables are low-glycemic food, and you should include them most in your daily diet. However, it is often not quite possible to stick to such a diet.

That is where glyconutritionals or glyconutrient supplements come in. Glyconutrients are a class of sugars that are found in fruits and vegetables and are necessary to keep the body ticking along perfectly. The are needed to some the fundamental biochemical process of cell-to-cell communication in the body, and tone up the immune system.

Eight of these essential sugars have already been discovered and six of these are not available in our daily diet. Taking glyconutritional supplements made from fruits and vegetables helps in two ways: they help you maintain a low-glycemic diet and also keep your body strong while on a fat loss regime.

Lisa Hyde-Barrett, a registered nurse and wellness advocate, understands the relationship between good nutrition and good health. She’s become passionate about the new research behind sugars, specifically glyconutritional products.

The Amazing Little Berries

July 8th, 2008

It’s time for berries! Let’s rediscover those little wonders of nature, which are jam-
packed with more nutrients than most cultivated fruits. Wild berries are even more
nutritious and you can get them for free.

High in Antioxidants and Nutrients

Antioxidants are compounds that protect against cell damage inflicted by molecules
called oxygen-free radicals, which are a major cause of disease and aging. It’s been
found that most berries rank higher in antioxidant activities when compared to
other cultivated fruits and vegetables. The USDA Human Nutrition Center ranked
blueberries the #1 most antioxidant rich berry. Strawberries came second on the list.
The antioxidants are usually found in the pigment that give berries their color. They
help protect us from cancer naturally.

Berries also contain a higher amount of phytochemicals than most other fruits.
Phytochemicals are components of plants that have been shown to help prevent
certain diseases, or at least influence our health in a positive sense.

Berries are generally high in vitamin C. For example, a cup of strawberries contains
as much vitamin C as a cup of orange juice. Without having to go through the list,
let’s just remember that berries, especially wild ones, contain plenty of vitamins,
minerals, antioxidants and other phytochemicals, more than most cultivated fruits.

The Fun is the Variety

The best thing about berries is that there are so many of them. Strawberries,
raspberries, blueberries, but also blackberries, black raspberries, gooseberries… the
list is endless. All types of berries have their particularities and health benefits, and
we all have our favorites!

Mine are black raspberries, raspberries and blackberries. Each year it seems I
discover a new type of berry that I’ve never seen before… and it’s always an
enjoyable experience.

Unfortunately…

The bad news is that most commercially grown berries are heavily sprayedwith
pesticides. The ones that are notoriously bad in that regard are strawberries and
raspberries. As mentioned in a previous article, those two berries are in the top-12
most contaminated produce sold in North America.
For that reason, it would be wise to seek organically-grown berries, or even better,
wild ones.

Where to Find Wild Berries

Wild berries are all around us. Honestly, it would be hard to imagine someone living
farther than 5 or 6 miles away from a bush of wild berries. Each year, I’ve always
made a point of seeking the wild berries in my area and I’ve always found some.
Sometimes the supply was scanty, yes, but no matter where I lived I’ve always been
surrounded by berries.

When I went to Oregon a few years ago, I discovered the magic of blackberries of
the Northwest. It appears that the woods in that area are jam-packed with big,
sweet, round blackberries during the summer. I remember picking and eating so
many of them that I eventually thought to myself: there’s got to be a way to feed the
whole state with what’s found in the woods!

The problem is that most people don’t even see wild berries, or look for them, and
when they do, they don’t eat them! A few days ago my friend and I went to a
national park nearby where I live. Suddenly, we found an endless supply of wild
blueberries. As we started picking them almost greedily, many people went by and
saw us picking berries. “Oh look honey, there are blueberries there”, they were
saying, and then just passed by us without even trying them! A few people tried
some, but found them to be too small to be worth the hassle. I couldn’t believe it!
What can you expect when most people think “food” needs to be wrapped and sold
in a supermarket.?

So before you turn into an insensitive city-dweller who never gets to actually pick
the food he eats, reform yourself starting today. Go out to pick some wild berries.
They’re easy to find in the outskirts of woods and around trails. If you live in a city,
you might want to check out along railways (if there are any), or do the right thing,
which is to leave the smog for a day and come back with buckets of the stuff.

A hassle-free alternative would be to go to an organic farm and ask them if you can
pick them yourself. Usually, they offer that option and charge a lot less for it. When I
do this, I generally spend hours picking and come back with so many berries I don’t
know what to do with. I like that feeling…

Some Ideas on What to Do With Berries

Berries make a great entree to a dinner salad, and actually combine very well with a
salad, since they do not contain as much sugar as other fruits. You can also make
nice salad dressings with berries. A non-fat dressing recipe to try is blending
raspberries and celery stalks together. The result is surprising!

Smoothies made with berries are hard to beat. One that I really like is blending 2
thirds mango with 1 third raspberries. For example, 2 cups of mango flesh with 1
cup of raspberries. You can try variations of this with other berries and fruits. The
possibilities are endless and the
results are predictably outstanding.

Here’s a nice berry recipe from my book, Instant Raw Sensations:

—————————–
Summer Berry Soup
—————————–

Makes 4 servings

1 liter (1000 ml.) freshly-squeezed orange juice

2 cups fresh raspberries

1 cup fresh blackberries

1 cup fresh blueberries or strawberries

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together and let sit for sometime to let the flavors mix.

Notes:
This is a great soup to enjoy as often as possible during the berry season. I serve it
as an entree before the dinner meal.

—————————–

Freezing Berries

—————————–

If you’ve got too many berries at the height of the season, or would like to enjoy
those wild berries at other times of the year, you can certainly freeze them.
Although I don’t recommend the consumption of cold, frozen fruits on a regular
basis, those thawed berries still contain most of the nutritional benefits of fresh
berries and this might be a great option to add variety during the winter. What I
want to avoid, however, is the consumption of cold frozen berries (or other fruits),
as this negatively impacts the health of our intestinal flora. So when you want to eat
your frozen berries, always thaw them beforehand. They make nice additions to
smoothies and fruit salads during the winter.

In conclusion: eat more berries.

Suggested Berry Book (In honor of the child in you.)

“Jamberry” by Bruce Degen, is a wonderful children’s book all about berries.

A teaser:
“The story of a young boy and a friendly rhyme-spouting bear,
joyously romping through a fantastic berryworld. They won’t
stop their berry picking until the last boomberry has blasted
in the strawberry sky.”

Here’s an excerpt:
“One berry
Two berry
Pick me a blueberry
Hatberry
Shoeberry
In my canoeberry…”

“The child in you wants more berries!”

IT Strategy for Midsize Business: Microsoft vs. Java, Great Plains & CRM

July 8th, 2008

Midsize business or non-profit organization should decide if one-vendor solution would be appropriate and the associated risk acceptable. In our opinion, balancing the risk of one-vendor-approach is not economically feasible and should be avoided. This means that you need to decide if you plan to be Microsoft-oriented or Java/Unix/Linux/Oracle oriented. In the case of Java direction - you again have to further consider your options and if possible do not deploy too many systems from different vendors. Even if you host your systems with somebody else - we think that in the future you might have a risk of complex data conversion from one system to another. In this small article we’ll show you typical way if you follow Microsoft direction: Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains and Microsoft CRM

• Sales Automation. It was actual at all the times, however now it is becoming critical to have decent Client Relation Management (CRM) system implemented. You order takers or sales people should be working exclusively in CRM, where you should have sales workflow, approvals, pipeline of pending deals, reporting with future cash flow prediction. Use Microsoft CRM Sales module.

• Servicing. If you would like to avoid tame wasting when your service and sales people are talking to each other and have long meetings to fulfill customer order, you have to organize them around CRM Service module: Contract, Case, Activity, workflow and assignments to service technicians, plus email to/from your customers should be captured in MS CRM

• ERP. Currently, Microsoft Business Solutions has MS CRM integrated with Microsoft Great Plains. Great Plains is good ERP solution for majority midsize business and fits to variety of business niches. Great Plains is integrated with MS CRM on the level of Sales Order Processing module (SOP).

• Customization. Usually each midsize business has unique procedures which should be mapped into their CRM and ERP. So, be ready to have minor or major customization implemented. In the case of MS CRM - majority of the customizations are done in C# or VB.Net - so called Microsoft CRM SDK programming and development. It is open technology - you can download MS CRM SDK and have anyone with C#/VB.Net skills do the job. In the case of Microsoft Great Plains he technology is not that open and you might need somebody with Great Plains Dexterity, VBA/Modifier, Integration Manager, eConnect, SQL coding - this combination of skills is usually available from one of the Microsoft Business Solutions Customization Partners

• Integration. If you have something else, besides Microsoft CRM and Great Plains, then you might need the integration. Assuming that your major systems are on the Microsoft platform - integrations should be done via heterogeneous queries from the side of Microsoft SQL server - through linked servers

• Reporting. In our opinion - the best tool for non-financial reports (financial - use FRx) is Crystal Reports. Base your Crystal report on heterogeneous view or stored procedure to pull the data from multiple systems. You can deploy Crystal reports in your web application, if needed

Good luck with implementation, customization and integration and if you have issues or concerns - we are here to help! If you want us to do the job - give us a call 866-528-0577 or 630-961-5918! help@albaspectrum.com

Landscaping Tips: 6 Basic Steps To Building A Garden Pond

July 6th, 2008

Building a garden pond is not just a matter of digging a hole, lining it with plastic and filling it with water. There are other considerations such as whether it should contain fish or just plants; how big or small it should be; its shape, and so on. Be prepared to dig a decent hole and spend many hours complaining about your aching back … but you’ll be very pleased with the results and you can happily stand around, beer in hand, praising your efforts after the fact. For those who have done it, building a garden pond can be a very satisfying project indeed.

Step 1 - Decide on where to build your pond.

Naturally, level ground would be best or else you’ll spend far more time and effort doing the levelling yourself. Building a garden pond under a tree is unwise as the roots will continue to grow and could encroach upon the pond’s territory in the future. The shade of the tree will also mean a lack of sunlight, which is essential to your pond’s survival. Since you will need electricity for the pump, proximity to an outlet is important.

Step 2 - Prefabricated or do-it-yourself liner?

Prefabs are the more expensive option but you pay for ease of installation, durability and low maintenance. Liners are available in different price ranges and generally speaking, the more you pay, the longer your liner will last.

Step 3 - Installation

For a prefab pond, tip it upside down on the area you’ve reserved, mark it out with 6 to 8 inches extra around the outside and start digging. If using liners, measure your outline keeping in mind the size of the liner you will be using. Building a garden pond that will last for years means that all debris should be removed from the cavity to avoid punctures to the bottom of the pond. Once the hole is the required depth and size, add the prefab or lay the lining. Fill to about one quarter capacity with water so that the weight will keep the pond in place as you refill the gaps with soil.

Step 4 - Decoration

You can now add plants, rocks, bark and stone around the ‘banks’ of the pond for a more natural appearance. If you intend to add fish, plants that overhang into the water will be useful as shade and hiding spots.

Step 5 - Add aquatic plants

If you’re building a garden pond that doesn’t have a pump, you should aim for plenty of plant life to keep algae growth under control.

Step 6 - Install a pump and filter

There are dozens of models on the market and your retailer will be able to help you decide which size is best for your pond. Read the instructions and follow carefully, but it’s generally a simple task to place the pump in the water and connect the hose to it. The filter needs to be positioned in front of the pump to encourage water through the filter first. Building a garden pond and outfitting it should take little more than a weekend, which is one of the things that makes it so rewarding.
